Privacy Policy of Noid Messenger
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Welcome to Noid Messenger. Your privacy is our absolute priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our messaging application.
Noid Messenger has been designed with a "privacy by design" approach: we firmly believe that you should have full control over your data and that collecting personal information is not necessary to provide you with a secure and functional messaging service.
In summary: We do not collect, track, or store your personal data identifying you. Your communication is private and ephemeral when using our self-deleting features.
1. Data Controller
The data controller for the Noid Messenger app is:
DREAMGEST LTD
80 Charlotte Street, London, England, W1T 4QS
[email protected]
For any questions regarding your privacy, you can contact us at the email address above.
2. Data We DO NOT Collect (Anonymous Registration)
Unlike many other apps, Noid Messenger is designed to make registration completely anonymous.
- Google and Apple Registration Data: The data obtained from registration with Google or Apple is not transmitted to our servers. Therefore, any phone numbers or emails will remain anonymous and will not be used as identifiers by the app.
- Unique Identifier: The only information you voluntarily provide is:
- Nickname: The pseudonym you choose to be identified within the app. This nickname does not have to correspond to your real name.
- Password: Used to encrypt and securely protect access to your account locally on your device.
We have no way to link your nickname to a real identity. Registration is designed to be as anonymous as possible.
3. Messaging Data and Its Deletion
The main feature of Noid Messenger is the self-deletion of messages. Here's how it works:
- Message Content: The messages you send are encrypted and securely transmitted to the recipient.
- Reading and Deletion: ONLY when sending messages using the "Autodeleting message" function, as soon as the recipient opens and reads the message, it is immediately and permanently deleted from our servers and from the recipient's device. No backup copies are kept.
- Undelivered Messages: ONLY when sending messages using the "Autodeleting message" function, if a message is sent to an offline user, it is temporarily kept on our servers in encrypted form until the recipient comes back online and reads it. Once read, it is instantly deleted. If the message is not delivered within a predetermined period (e.g., 7 days), it will be automatically deleted from the servers without ever being read.
- Chat History: ONLY when sending messages using the "Autodeleting message" function, since messages are deleted after being read, there is no persistent chat history. Once a message has been read and deleted, it is gone forever. You can only access your last sent message by clicking on the recipient's reply.
4. Security of Data in Transit
The security of your communications during transit is fundamental.
- HTTPS Encryption: All data exchanged between your app and our servers, including messages, is protected by HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS). This prevents third parties from intercepting and reading your communications while they travel over the internet.
5. No Tracking or Data Collection
Noid Messenger does not use any third-party analytics or tracking tools. This means that:
- We do not collect analytical data on how you use the app.
- We do not track your activity within the app.
- We do not use cookies or similar technologies to profile you.
- We do not sell or rent any data to third parties, simply because we have no data to sell.
The only minimal technical information that might be automatically recorded by servers (such as IP address) for the time strictly necessary for connection and message exchange, is not associated with your account, is not persistently stored, and is not used to identify you.
6. Data Retention
As explained, our data retention policy is extremely limited:
- Account: Your login data (nickname and password hash) is kept to allow you to authenticate. However, since we don't have your email, we cannot recover your account if you forget your password. Account management is entirely your responsibility.
- Messages: Stored only for the time strictly necessary for delivery (from a few seconds up to a maximum of 7 days in case of an offline user). They are deleted immediately after being read ONLY if sent with the "Autodeleting message" function. Messages sent normally will be stored in an encrypted form on the servers until they are manually deleted.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR in Europe), you may have specific rights regarding your data. Since we do not collect identifiable personal data, many of these rights (such as the right to rectification or erasure) are automatically satisfied by the very design of the app. For example, if you stop using the app, your messages disappear after being read and your account, not being linked to a real identity, simply becomes inaccessible.
If you have specific questions about exercising your rights, you can contact us at the address provided.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. In the event of material changes, we will notify you by posting the new policy on the app and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
